Defer shipments
Deferring shipments refers to the practice of postponing or delaying the dispatch of goods to a later date or time. This could occur for various reasons, for example, supply chain issues, customer requests, logistical challenges, and so on.
If you have one or more shipments and you are unable to ship them, for example, pre-orders, then you can defer these shipments for up to 28 days in the future and repeat as required until the goods become available.
If you have shipments with a future date and goods become available before the shipments’ dates, then you can defer the shipments to the date you want them to be shipped including today’s date.
Note
A shipment can be deferred for a maximum of 28 days, and you can defer the shipment again either for the current date or for up to another 28 days. If the shipment is not further deferred, it is manifested automatically when the shipment date has been reached.
