Prohibited and restricted export codes
International and prohibited export codes refer to specific classifications that govern which items can be exported from a country and under what conditions.
Prohibited export codes are associated with product(s) that cannot be exported under any circumstances. Few of the examples are:
- Endangered species
- Certain chemicals
- Certain firearms, ammunitions, and others.
Restricted export codes apply to products that can be exported but with specific limitations, this often includes needing permits, licenses, or compliance with particular regulations. Few examples of restricted items includes the following:
- Agricultural products (like certain fruits, vegetables, or meats) from specific countries.
- Dual-use goods (items that can be used for both civilian and military applications).
- Pharmaceuticals or medical devices that require regulatory approvals, and others
The following tables contains the export codes returned by the Hurricane LCE.
